How do I ship a firearm?
Shipping firearms is heavily regulated. Non-FFL holders must follow these steps to comply with federal, state, local laws, and carrier rules:
- Use an FFL: We strongly recommend shipping through a Federal Firearms Licensee (e.g., local gun shop or range). Find one at OpenFFLs.com or GunBroker.com. FFLs handle legal firearm shipments.
- Non-FFL Restrictions:
- Handguns: Non-FFL holders cannot ship handguns via USPS, UPS, or FedEx. Use an FFL to ship to Valor Precision, LLC.
- Rifles/Shotguns: Non-FFL holders can ship unloaded rifles/shotguns via USPS within the same state or to an FFL elsewhere, using tracking and signature services (e.g., Registered Mail). UPS and FedEx restrict non-FFL shipments.
- Packaging:
- Ensure the firearm is unloaded and in a plain, sturdy box meeting carrier standards (e.g., USPS DMM 601.1-7).
- Do not ship ammunition in the same package.
- Use no markings indicating firearm contents.
- Documentation: Include Valor Precision’s FFL form (provided upon registration) and your contact info when shipping via an FFL.
- Insurance: We recommend package insurance, as Valor Precision, LLC is not liable for lost or damaged shipments. Remove custom parts (e.g. holsters) before shipping.

Firearm frequency of cleaning is a controversial and shooter opinionated subject. It is suggested that at least a 2-5 minute field strip to remove carbon/debris should be practiced at the conclusion of any range session/day. Heavy firing range events 250+ rounds should receive proper lubrication prior to and cleaning after.
